The Joint Job Evaluation Committee (JJEC) CUPE local 1734 representatives and board representatives have been attempting for some time to deal with the appeals that resulted for the Job Evaluation process. Unfortunately the parties (union and employer) have reached an impasse and as a result have requested another set of eyes to access whether ‘NEW’ job information has been brought forward through the appeal process that would affect the current rating of the job. The JJEC will be supporting and endorsing the decisions reached by these individuals.
As news becomes available we will share the results.
We have received some calls from members about March Break filing. E.I. has not sent any new information. The same reference code is being used as in Dec. This information is still posted on the Payroll Services website. Here is the link:

We expect the Board to send out ROEs for the 10 month employees on Mar. 12 and for the term/temps on Mar. 26 so filing should not occur very much in advance of those dates.
Everyone has a duty to report...read what the Child & Family Services Act says about it.

Good Luck to All Who Apply!!
"I would like to thank you for a wonderful day on April 30th. I attended the “Thinking on Your Feet” and “Beating the Odds” workshops as part of the CUPE Learning Series. Both were excellent and I found the latter of the two to be a moving and emotional experience. The things that Ms. Andrews mentioned about her life touched me and that I could relate to made the talk even more moving. Please try to get Ms. Andrews to speak to others at YRDSB. She praises the work we all do every day with the children and young adults we see and work with.
The lunch and break time drinks and snacks were offered were great and there was definitely no complaints from the people I sat with over lunch.
I commend you on the monumental task of organizing these workshops, securing conference halls and scheduling all of CUPE 1734.
Please do share this email with others in the CUPE Executive, other members of 1734, and any organizers of the event that I might have missed." Joe
Thank you and I look forward to future Learning Series.
